Our summer Lakes & Mountains season usually starts in mid-late May and runs through until the end of October. The summer season usually starts in early April and runs through until the end of October. Our ski season usually starts mid-late November and runs through until the end of April. You will need to be available to work for a full season. Certain management positions may start earlier than advertised.
Can I choose where I go?
While we can't guarantee a placement in a specific resort or chalet, you can express a preference. Be assured that we know all of our properties and resorts very well and will place you in a location that we feel you will be best suited to. What's certain is you'll have a great time there.
Can I work with a friend/partner?
You can request to work with somebody, although we can't always guarantee this. However there are some chalets that are ideal for couples or friends to run, and quite often friends can work in the same resort, if not directly together.
How do I get to resort?
We will arrange and pay for your transport overseas before the season starts and on successful completion of your contract we will also arrange for your trip back to the UK (normally from and to London for ski). For summer beach you would fly from an airport near your home.
Where do I live?
We arrange for you to live in shared accommodation in your resort during your time overseas. Some Chalets are equipped for staff to live-in with the guests. If you don't live in one of our chalets or hotels, you will be sharing one of our staff apartments with other members of the team.
Do I need a work permit/visa?
If you have a EU passport there is no need for you to get a work permit for our European programme. We will organise for you to be registered with the local employment authorities. However, if you are applying for the North American programme or do not have a EU passport for the European programme you will need to arrange for a work permit/visa for the country you are going to work in. You need to obtain this before we can offer you a position of employment.
Do you pay interview expenses?
Not for your initial interview, but if we ask you to return for a second one, reasonable travel expenses will be covered.
Will I get time to ski/ snowboard/ go sightseeing?
During the season you will get plenty of time to enjoy the snow and the nearby sights.
Do I get a lift pass in the ski season?
You get a lift pass and equipment hire for the duration of your employment with us.
How do I get paid?
We pay you directly into your UK bank or building society account, monthly in arrears. The wages vary from position to position and from country to country so we will give you details of the salaries when you attend your interview.
How do I get my money while I'm overseas?
Most people use a cash card to withdraw money from cash points overseas. It's quick, convenient and gives you a good rate of exchange. Most cash cards have a Cirrus, Maestro or Visa symbol on them, which means that they can be used abroad. If you are unsure whether you can use your card abroad, ask your bank, as this service is very easy to arrange. It is advisable to set up an Internet banking facility to keep a check on your account whilst you are overseas.
Do I have to wear a uniform?
We provide you with a uniform to wear whenever you are working.
Will I be insured?
We provide you with full medical insurance and a small sum for personal possessions during your employment with us.
